Wednesday  Wheel & Sculpture - Steven Allen
Explore wheel throwing, hand-building and sculptural techniques. Students can create their own
projects or be inspired by a variety of techniques demonstrated each week. Traditional and alternate
firing processes including Saggar and Raku are available.

Intro to Sculpture (Beg/Adv) - Steven Allen
More fully understand the process of working with clay and constructing sculpted ceramic objects from
functional to figurative.  Investigate broad artistic concepts like abstraction, representation, form and/or
narrative through building demonstrations, image presentations, and our own explorations in the
studio. Techniques include pinch, slab, coil and solid hand building methods.  Surface texture and
treatments both ceramic and non-traditional are also addressed.

The Art of Raku Entry-level class - Steven Allen
Create your own work in class or bring in your completed bisque fired pieces to transform them into
beautiful Raku pieces.  All skill levels are welcome, and exploration is encouraged...learn how organic
materials combine with the whimsy of fire to create incredible surface textures on your ceramic works in
this hands-on, exciting process. Beware...Raku is exciting and addictive!

Ruby's Clay Studio
Hand-building All Levels  - Steven Allen
All classes are eight weeks long.  The class fee covers instruction, studio time, use of over twenty high
fire glazes, and firing of your work.  Tools and clay are not provided; however Ruby’s provides these
materials at a greatly discounted rate. Classes are limited to ten students.  Studio time is unlimited for
all students during the eight weeks of their class.  Guaranteed firing is limited to the work made with 25
lbs of clay.  Additional work (within reason) is fired free of charge, as space permits.
